Introducing… Telekast: two friends who love pop/rock hooks and jangly guitars. Olivia Rodriguez (vocals) and Blake Hudson Kasting (guitar) met in college and bonded over their love for The Beatles and the art of songwriting. Growing up in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura respectively, their surroundings have certainly rubbed off on their sunny SoCal sound. Drawing further inspiration from Squeeze, The La’s, and Elvis Costello, the duo’s character-driven lyrics; clean, straight-ahead vocals; and open, ringing guitar sound come together to create their own brand of jangle pop. The group just made their debut at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles and released an acoustic version of their song “Missy a Go-Go.”
